2016-11-16

Egypt, Cairo: The government of Egypt has secured a loan from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) to part-finance the procurement of materials and associated services for several packages for the 650 MW Cairo West Supercritical Power Station.

The government is now looking to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to the 500 kV and 220 kV gas insulated switchyard project, reports ESI-Africa.

Cairo Electricity Production Company (CEPC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, invites sealed tenders from international bidders for performing all works, including civil works, materials, equipment and electro-mechanical documents for the 500 kV and 220 kV gas insulated switchyard and 500/220 kV transformer.

All tenders must be submitted by or on 16 November 2016, by 12:00 noon (Cairo local time).
