Indian state-owned power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won an order to build three extra-high-voltage (EHV) substations in the state of Karnataka to transmit power from a major solar park.

Valued at $14 million, the order includes two substations of 400/220 kV at Pavagada and Vasantnarsapur in Tumkur, as well as a 400 kV substation at Mysore.

The key EHV equipment, including 125 MVAr and 80 MVAr reactors and other substation equipment, will be supplied from BHEL's manufacturing units at Bhopal and Bangalore.
