ABB successfully short-circuit tests 765 kV transformer

 ABB has successfully completed the dynamic short-circuit tests on a 315 MVA, 765 kV single-phase generator step-up transformer (GSU), manufactured at its factory in Vadodara, India.

Seven of these transformers will be supplied to NTPC Ltd. India for its 2 x 800 MW Gadarwara Super Thermal Power station in Madhya Pradesh, the manufacturer said in a press release.

Test were conducted at an independent laboratory in the Netherlands, according to International Electrotechnical Commission ( IEC) standards.
