2016-12-1
USA, Louisana: A large power transformer has been transported from New Orleans to a nuclear power project near Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The transformer was transported via the Mississippi River and required a detailed roll-off plan to account for adverse weather conditions. The transformer was transported aboard a deck barge, reports Breakbulk.
The cargo transport team also relied on 12-metre barge ramps, two tugboats, ballast pumps and two power packs PST-SLEs.
“The transformer was successfully offloaded using 20 lines of Goldhofer PST-SLE transported within one day. All aspects of the project were scrutinized tonuclear facility standards,” a spokesperson for Berard said.
