U.S. awards $202M for rural power projects

USA: The U.S. Government is providing $202 million for projects aimed at delivering electricity to rural residents, businesses and institutions in nine states.
The funding will be used for smart grid technologies, the construction of transmission lines and system upgrades, reports Energy Live News.
The nine states included in the funding are Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
The USDA previously provided funding to help 821 rural businesses and farms in the U.S. reduce energy usage.
