2018-4-8

China’s EximBank has approved $1.3 billion in financing for a new utility-scale hydroelectric plant in Guinea.

The 450 MW plant is expected to produce sufficient capacity to export electricity to the neighbouring countries in West Africa, reports ESI-Africa.

Another 714 km transmission line project running between the cities N'Zérékoré in Guinea and Sanankoroba in Mali, has received financing from the African Development Bank, which will contribute $84 million for the project.

This electricity transmission line will enable 201 villages in Guinea and Mali to be connected to the electricity grid.
