Transformer manufacturer lands 5-year contract with leading UK DNO

2016-4-5

United Kingdom, Leicestershire: British transformer manufacturer BRUSH has announced a new transformer supply framework agreement with a UK’s leading electricity distribution network operator Western Power Distribution (WPD).

The operator uses three main power ratings across its network – 132 kV, 66 kV and 33 kV. Under the deal, BRUSH will supply transformers in a range of sizes for use in 66 kV and 33 kV substations, the manufacturer said in a statement.

BRUSH will supply the high-voltage transformers in four different sizes – each of which delivers different levels of current to suit the levels of load across local networks – while the low-voltage transformers will be supplied in three different sizes.

WPD delivers electricity to more than 7.8 million people across the Midlands, the South West and Wales and consists of 185,000 substations and more than 220,000 km of overhead lines and underground cables.
