Siemens wins triple transformer station contract for Deira Islands

UAE, Dubai: Dubai’s developer, Nakheel PJSC, awarded Siemens with a contract for the construction of three substations on the developer’s master project, Deira Islands in Dubai.

Each of the three 132/11 kV substations will comprise three 50 MVA power transformers, eight bays of 132 kV gas-insulated switchgears, 71 panels of 11 kV air-insulated switchgears, as well as control and protection, reports AME Info.

They are scheduled for completion in the first half of 2017.

The turnkey construction of the substations is set to be an essential component of the Deira Islands development, which comprises four man-made islands off the coast of Dubai’s Deira District.
