Siemens wins $30M transmission contract in Mexico
2015-12-31
Mexico, Mexico City: Mexico's federal utility CFE has awarded Siemens a $29.8 million substation and transmission line project in the northern state of Coahuila.
The contract includes the construction of a 400/115 kV substation with power transformers and associated electrical equipment and five 115 kV transmission lines totalling 25 km, reports BN Americas.
The project will guarantee the electricity supply in that state and reduce operating costs, and provide a better quality and more economical service to customers, according to the company.
In May last year the utility announced it would invest $40 billion in the modernization and expansion of the national grid.
