Russia’s steel works receives new 63 MVA transformer

 Russia: Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works (CherMK) has received a new 63 MVA power transformer as part of the reconstruction project of its main step-down substation.

The new 63 MVA power transformer was manufactured by Power Machines - Toshiba. High-voltage transformers (PMTT) and is intended to replace the unit that reached the end of its operating life.

This is the third power transformer PMTT delivered to CherMK as part of the steelworks’ replacement program for high-voltage transformers, launched in 2015.
