New distribution transformer with extended longevity unveiled

 ABB has launched of a new longer life distribution transformer which features a special coating that protects the transformer from corrosion in the most severe environments, according to the manufacturer.

The new coating formula is intended to ensure ongoing operation of the distribution transformer in harsh operating conditions containing salt, moisture or chemicals that can cause premature corrosion and lead to transformer leaks or failure.  

The coating protects the transformer from corrosive substances, extending its service life and eliminating the cost of frequent repainting.
