L&T wins $108M transformer stations contract

 India, Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of L&T, has won an order valued at $108.2 million for the construction of five 132 kV substations at Hail area from the National Grid, Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company.

The scope of the project involves detailed designing, engineering, testing and commissioning of 132/13.8 kV, 50/67 MVA power transformers and 132/33 kV, 80/100 MVA power transformers, states the manufacturer in the press release.

The project also involves design engineering, testing and commissioning of the 132 kV gas-insulated switchgear, 13.8 kV switchgears, 33 kV switchgear, control & protection system, substation automation system, HVAC, the firefighting system with associated auxiliary systems and civil works.

These projects are located in the central province of Saudi Arabia and are scheduled to be completed in 24 months.
