Jacobs Receives Contract From National Grid in the UK

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that it received three framework contracts from National Grid to provide project services over a three-year period to support their investment programs in the areas of gas transmission/distribution, carbon capture and storage and property.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Jacobs is expected to provide a full range of projectservices including project management; project controls; cost management; field services; health, safety and environmental management; and specialist disciplines. The scope of the framework projectsincludes the new build and up-rating of gas pipeline and compressor projectsresulting from changing patterns of supply and demand, new CO2 transportation networks, andthe clean up and disposal of surplus non-operational properties owned by National Grid.
The frameworks became effective in July 2010 and will run for an initial period of three years.
National Grid is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world. The company delivers gas and electricity to millions of people across Great Britain and the north eastern United States.
