Essar Steel Minessota acquiring new power transformers

 Minnesota, Nashwauk: The Essar Steel Minnesota LLC located north of Nashwauk, Minnesota, is increasing its power capacity with two new power transformers.

The Nashwauk Public Utilities Commission (NPUC) has approved the purchase of a pair of new transformers 300 kVA and 100 kVA, which will replace a 150 kVA transformer and a 50 kVA transformer, respectively, reports Mesabi Daily News.

Once the new transformers are energized, NPUC expects there will be no issues regarding concerns about moisture damaging the transformers, as the new transformers are built to withstand the weather and should last for years.
