Entergy Arkansas to build $56M substation

 USA, Arkansas: Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) staff has approved Entergy Arkansas’ proposal to build a 500/161 kV transmission substation and the related transmission line terminal facilities to be located in Craighead County, Arkansas.

The proposed facilities would involve the construction of the 500/161 kV transmission substation and associated switchyards in 2016, while the installation of 500 kV and 161 kV electrical equipment, autotransformer, and gas insulated switchgear will start at the beginning of 2017, reports Transmission Hub.

The total estimated cost of the project is $55.9 million.
