Chinese 128-tonne transformer arrives to Ararat

Australia, Victoria: The biggest single component of the Ararat wind farm, the USD 300 million (AUD 400 million) project in south-west Victoria, arrived to Australia from Shanghai and was travelling through Elmhurst last week on its way to the site.

The arrival of the 128-tonne power transformer, which will be switched on at the end of next month, means the Ararat wind farm is almost ready to go, reports The Weekly Times.

The other two purpose-built transformers arrived to the farm in March.
