India, New Delhi: Alstom T&D India has commissioned a substation in Anta, Rajasthan, designed to assist in more efficient evacuation of electricity from three power plants in the state.
As part of the turnkey project, three 500 MVA, 765/400 kV power transformers have been installed at the substation, along with 765 kV reactors and associated 765 kV equipment, all at the cost of nearly $59 million, reports The Economic Times.
The substation will play a significant role in pooling and evacuating the power flow from the three major power plants in the state - Kalisindh, Kawai and Chhabra - to the national grid.
Anta is Rajasthan's first 765 kV substation, and the second largest with a total of 26 bays, 10 765 kV bays and 16 400 kV bays.
