Agbaou Gold Mine Station

Agbaou Gold Mine 25MVA 90KV Transformer
Agbaou, Endeavour's newest operation, achieved commercial production on January 27, 2014. For 2014, the mine is expected to produce 85,000 to 95,000 ounces at a cash cost of between $730 to $780 per ounce. Life of mine annual production averages 100,000 ounces over 8 years. Agbaou is a strong cash flow generator for Endeavour due to its low cost profile which includes favorable grades, access to inexpensive grid power and access to free dig ore in the first few years.

Endeavour holds an 85% interest in Agbaou Gold Operations S.A. while the State of Côte d'Ivoire and SODEMI (the State owned mining company) hold a 10% and a 5% free carried interest, respectively.

The Agbaou Gold Mine is located approximately 200km northwest of the port city of Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire. Mining is carried out using conventional open pit methods and the ore is processed through a conventional gravity-CIL plant with a design capacity of 1.3 to 1.6 Mtpa (depending on the hardness of the ore). The plant design includes a SAG and ball mills followed by gravity (Knelson) concentrators and a CIL circuit with an AARL elution circuit. Average recovery is 92.5% (93% in oxide, 91% bedrock). The open pit mine accesses softer free-dig laterite and saprolite ore for the first two years of operations. Grid power is delivered to site from a 15km transmission line at a cost of approximately $0.09 per kWhr.
