ADB to finance installation of two transformers at Toktogul

 Kyrgyzstan, Jalal-Abad: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will finance installation of two power transformers 500 kV at the Toktogul Hydroelectric Station in Kyrgyzstan as part of the financing agreement for the Kyrgyz Energy Sector Rehabilitation Project.

Under the recently altered agreement, ADB has agreed to the change in the project to exclude the replacement of the generator, excitation system and control system from Phase 1 of the project and instead include installation of two power transformers 500 kV along with conducting underwater research of hydraulic structures, reports Tazabek.

The allocated funds of $40 million will cover the turnkey contract which will include the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the equipment by the general contractor.
