$150M tender to include 162 substations and 2,200 transformers

India, Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) will be embarking upon a major distribution network strengthening project in the urban and rural areas in the next couple of months.
The upgrade of distribution network will cover erection of 162 new substations, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, including 32 indoor stations and 130 outdoor, reports The Hindu.
Also, about 2,220 new distribution transformers will be installed along with laying of 188-km 33 kV interlinking lines and about 260 km of undergroundcabling.
The tendering process for the entire project, funded by World Bank and estimated to cost around $150 million, is set to start by March 31.
