Quality Control
Quality Assurance from Engineering to Delivery
Quality is controlled throughout every stage of our transformer manufacturing process, from engineering design and material selection to manufacturing, testing, final inspection, and delivery. Our quality control procedures are designed to ensure reliable performance, mechanical strength, insulation integrity, and long-term service life.
01 Engineering & Design Quality Control
Every transformer project starts with detailed engineering review and design verification. Electrical, mechanical, thermal, insulation, and short-circuit performance are evaluated before manufacturing to reduce technical risks and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Quality Controls
- Customer specification and technical requirement review
- Electrical design and calculation verification
- Insulation coordination
- Thermal performance analysis
- Short-circuit withstand analysis
- Electromagnetic and mechanical simulation
- Manufacturing drawing and process review
Simulation-Based Engineering
Electromagnetic, mechanical, thermal, insulation, and short-circuit performance are evaluated before manufacturing.
02 Material & Component Quality Control
Critical materials and components are inspected and verified before entering production. Material specifications, certificates, dimensions, and key technical requirements are reviewed to ensure conformity with approved project requirements.
Quality Controls
- Silicon steel inspection and material verification
- Material certificates and documentation review
- Conductor and insulation material inspection
- Critical component specification verification
- Dimensional and visual inspection
- Component identification and traceability
High-Performance Core Materials
High-permeability, low-loss grain-oriented silicon steel, including M-4/M-5 grade or equivalent materials, is used according to project requirements.
03 Manufacturing Process Quality Control
Quality control is integrated into key manufacturing processes to ensure that each transformer is manufactured according to approved engineering drawings, specifications, and process requirements.
Key Manufacturing Controls
- Five-step stepped-lap core assembly inspection
- Fully mitered core joint verification
- Winding manufacturing and dimensional inspection
- Conductor transposition and winding configuration checks
- Insulation assembly inspection
- Vacuum drying and oil impregnation control
- Tank fabrication and welding inspection
- Assembly and accessory installation verification
Advanced Core & Mechanical Design
Core construction, magnetic shielding, copper shielding, and mechanical structures are carefully controlled to reduce losses, vibration, and mechanical stress during operation.
04 Testing & Factory Acceptance Test
Before shipment, transformers undergo comprehensive testing to verify electrical performance, insulation integrity, thermal performance, mechanical condition, and compliance with approved technical requirements.
Routine & Performance Testing
- No-load loss and excitation current
- Load loss and impedance voltage
- Winding resistance
- Voltage ratio and phase relationship
- Insulation resistance
- Applied voltage test
- Induced voltage test
- Partial discharge measurement
- Temperature rise testing
- Sound level measurement
Special Tests
Additional type or special tests can be performed according to project specifications and applicable standards.
Partial Discharge Level
< 100 pC at 1.5× rated voltage.
Short-Circuit Withstand
Designed and verified according to IEC 60076-5, with a dynamic force margin of more than 1.3× calculated values.
Noise Emission
Typically ≤ 65 dB(A), with low-noise designs available down to 58 dB(A).
Thermal Performance
Hot-spot temperature rise is maintained within applicable IEC limits with a 20%+ thermal margin.
05 Final Inspection & Documentation
Following manufacturing and testing, each transformer undergoes final inspection before shipment. Quality records and test documentation are reviewed to verify that the completed transformer conforms to the approved technical specifications and project requirements.
Final Quality Checks
- Final visual and dimensional inspection
- Nameplate and rating verification
- Accessories and control system inspection
- Assembly and connection verification
- Test result review
- Quality documentation review
- Shipment preparation and final release
Complete Quality Documentation
Inspection records, test reports, material documentation, and other agreed quality documents can be provided according to project requirements.
